The four staff unions of Lagos state university, have locked the vice-chancellor, Prof. Olanrewaju fagboun out and not allowed to enter the school as their resumes today after a long corona holiday.
The unions involved in the protest are the University Academy Staff, the Senior Staff Association of Nigeria LASU chapter, The Non-Academy Staff Union of the school, and also the National Association of Academic Technologist, LASU chapter.
At exactly 7 am this morning, the members of the unions stood at the gate and stopped the vice-chancellor and senior staff to enter the university.
Their protest was based on non-payment of salary and increment of salary promised by the state government since last year.
The protesters claimed that some workers in Lagos state have received their increment while all tertiary institutions in Lagos state were yet to get their own increment.
The vice-chancellor tried to appeal to the unions, but they didn’t oblige him, neither do they allow him to enter the university.
