Naomi Osaka is the current US Open Champion

The Japanese tennis champion said Friday forfeit Roland Garros due to a thigh injury.

Japanese Naomi Osaka, winner of the last US Open tennis tournament , announced Thursday, September 17, her withdrawal from Roland Garros due to a persistent thigh injury.

“Unfortunately, I will not be able to play at Roland Garros this year. My thigh still hurts and I will not have time to prepare for the clay,” she wrote on her Twitter account.
