Cardi B makes things clear as the rapper “WAP” didn’t hold back and didn’t leave anything out when she openly discussed her divorce from Offset during an Instagram Live on Friday, September 18.
“I want to say thank you so much. However, like, I don’t really need it,” Cardi told her millions of followers, per People. “I’m okay. I want to let you know I have not shed not one tear.”
While the 27-year-old star admitted that she and the member of the Migos group already had problems in paradise, this time she explained that things were different.
“This time, I wasn’t crying,” she began, “Wanna know why? The reason my divorce is not because of none of that s–t that ever happened before. It’s not because the cheating.”
“I’m seeing people be like, ‘Oh, he has a baby on the way.’ That’s a whole f–king complete lie,” she added. “That’s the second time people are trying to pin babies over here. No, that’s bulls–t.”
Regarding the real reason why Cardi decided to end their relationship, she said, “I was just tired of fighting,” he just said. “I was just tired of not facing things face to face.
“When you feel like it’s not the same anymore before you actually get cheated on, I rather just be…,” she went on saying, “Nothing crazy out of this world happened. Sometimes people really do f–king grow apart. I’ve been with this man for four years. I have a kid with this man.”
Offset and Cardi are proud parents of their daughter Kulture Kiari, who has just turned 2 years old.
“I thank all those who have shown me their love,” Cardi repeated. “I am great. I am doing well. I am not down. I am not down. I am not hurt.
On Monday, September 14, the rapper filed for divorce from Offset in Fulton County. According to online court documents, Cardi B and his legal team described the marriage as “irreparably broken” and that “there is no prospect of reconciliation.
She is requesting for child support and hope the divorce will be resolved with the consent of the parties involved.
The couple’s divorce comes three years after their secret marriage in September 2017 and the following summer they welcomed their first child together.
When the news of their divorce came out, a source said that the news was “very shocking to everyone around them.”
“They have been living together, parenting Kulture and seemed to be doing fine from an outsider’s perspective,” the insider added.
This is not the first time the two have put on hold their love story. As early as December 2018, Cardi announced that she and Offset had broken up in an Instagram post.
“I’ve been trying to work things out with my little daddy for a long time, and we’re really good friends, and you know we’re great business partners,” Cardi B said at the time.
“It’s always someone I run to talk to and we love each other very much, but a lot of time has passed between us and it’s nobody’s fault.
“I think we’re over love, but we’re not together anymore. I don’t know”, she continued. It will take some time before you divorce and I will always love him because he is the father of my daughter”.
After their divorce, Offset begged Cardi B to take him back. He also begged the Star to forgive him after admitting that he had betrayed her. In early January 2019 they decided to reconcile their relationship.
