Sex Toy Shop Assault: court has ordered Nigerian Senator to pay N50 Million as compensation to victim

Elisha Abbo, a lawmaker representing Adamawa North Senatorial in the National Assembly, was ordered by the Federal Capital Territory High Court to pay N50m as compensation to Osimibibra Warmate for assaulting her at a sex toy store in Abuja.

In July 2020, the Senator was found not guilty of sexual attack by the Zuba Magistrate Court.

However, Warmate continued to file before the FCT High Court a simple human rights suit labelled CV/2393/19.

The judge found Abbo guilty while delivering a verdict on Monday and ordered him to pay the sum to the young lady.

Tropics Nigeria recalled that the incident of May 11 took place barely three months after Abbo was elected Senator and a month before he was sworn in on June 11.
