The reopening of private and public schools for the third term of the 2019/2020 academic session on Oct. 11 was announced by the Kano State government. This was confirmed by the Kano State Commissioner for Education, Muhammad Sanusi Kiru, during a Thursday news conference in his office.
Ganduje has approved the Re-opening of schools in Kano with effect from 11th October, 2020.
He also approved the immediate decontamination of 8,582 public schools in addition to the private schools involved in the Re-opening exercise.
Tropics Nigeria notes that Muhammad Kiru stated that the decision to reopen schools was the result of a series of meetings in the 19 northern states where resolutions were adopted, with stakeholders and State Commissioners for Education.
He said all teachers should return on Oct. 11 to their respective schools.
