Liverpool forward, Sadio Mane will not be available for Sunday’s game against Aston Villa after testing positive for coronavirus.

The news comes after Liverpool midfielder Thiago Alcantara was said to have tested positive for COVID19.

In a statement issued by Liverpool, it said that the Senegal winger “displayed minor symptoms of the virus but feels in good health overall.”

Liverpool also stated in its website “Like with Thiago Alcantara, Liverpool are – and will continue to – following all protocols relating to Covid-19 and Mane will self-isolate for the required period of time.”

After Sunday’s game against Aston Villa, Liverpool will play Everton on 17 October.

The Premier League declared on Monday that 10 persons had tested positive for COVID19 which is said to be the highest since the new season began.
