Tropics Nigeria gathered that three men have been arrested and prosecuted for killing and burning the bodies of ten people for ritual in Ekiti State. The three men identified are Abimbola Fatoye, 35, Ahmed Ojo, 56, and Kola Fatoye, 40.
The police prosecutor, Monica Ikebuilo, stated that the defendants committed the crime between March and September, 2020, in Orun-Ekiti, Ekiti State. The chopped bodies were said to be those of one Philip Akintayo, Moreani Ajayi as well as eight other corpses.
The defendants who were accused of the crime were said to have violated sections 242(1) b, 210 (e) and 213(b) of the Criminal Code laws of Ekiti State, 2012. The prosecutor advised the court to detain them in the correctional centre pending legal advice from the office of the Director of Public Prosecution.
Mrs. Adefumike Animo who is the Chief Magistrate, directed that the defendants be detained at the correctional centre pending legal advice. She adjourned the case to November 6 for hearing.
