Nigerian President Muhammadu Buhari has congratulated Ondo State Governor Rotimi Akeredolu on winning the state election.
Aide to the president on social media Bashir Ahmed made the announcement on his Twitter account, saying the president congratulated Mr Akeredolu on his re-election for another four years.
The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) on Sunday declared Rotimi Akeredolu the winner of Saturday’s Ondo State gubernatorial election.
Mr. Akeredolu received 292,830 votes, followed by PDP candidate Eyitayo Jegede with 195,791 votes, and ZLP candidate Agboola Ajayi with 69,127 votes.
