Lionel Messi has scored 115 goals in the Champions League second only to Cristiano Ronaldo (130)

Barcelona coach, Ronald Koeman said that Lionel Messi should “improve” his playing style ahead of Barcelona opening champions league clash against Ferencvaros.

Argentina international Messi, 33, tried to leave the club in the summer and said the clash when he wanted to leave was like a “big show”.

“I have no complaints or doubts about how he plays,” said Koeman, who will lead Barca to face Ferencvaros in the Champions League on Tuesday.

“At the moment he should improve his game. He is now happy and wants to play and become the captain of the team.”

Messi is in the final year of his contract at Barca and will face Juventus and Cristiano Ronaldo in Group G of the Champions League this season, a competition they have not won since 2015.
