Atiku Abubakar, Nigeria’s former vice president and 2019 presidential candidate says banditry attacks have become a “disaster especially in northern Nigeria.”

Atiku was speaking while offering his condolences to the families of those killed by gunmen in the Tungar Kwana attack in Mafara Local Government Area of ​​Zamfara State on Tuesday.

The former vice president also said the campaign to end #EndInsecurity in the north “should go beyond social media”.

“It is clear that bandit attacks especially in northern Nigeria have become a epidemic. We need a new security system to protect the lives of the people,” he said.
