The Socio-Economic Rights and Accountability Project (SERAP) has filed a complaint to the International Criminal Court of Justice against the Nigerian government handling of the #EndSARS protest.
The organisation is asking the court to investigate reports that “security forces and politicians have used thugs to harass EndSARS protesters in Abuja, Lagos, Osun and other states with similar incidents.
SERAP urged Fatou Bensouda to try to “ensure that the perpetrators, most of whom are government officials, the military and politicians who are directly or indirectly involved, are prosecuted.”
The human rights group Amnesty International said that at least 38 EndSARS protesters have been killed across Nigeria , where 12 were killed in Lagos on Tuesday after troops opened fire on protesters.
