The National Examination Council have postponed the nationwide Senior Secondary School Certificate across the country because of the current security challenges stemming from the #EndSARS protest.
Public Relations Division NECO, Azeez Sani, made the disclosure in Minna on Sunday.
Mr. Sani explained that the #EndSARS protest destabilized the smooth conduct of the examination in some parts of the country.
He said the governing board of NECO held a special meeting on Thursday, 22 October, 2020 to review the ongoing NECO exams.
It said the decision was taken due to security challenges and also stated that some states have declared curfew which led to school closures for the safety of students.
Based on the current situation it his become difficult for officials to move examination materials across the country and students in the affected locations were unable to sit for their papers which has already been scheduled in NECO’s examination timetable.
NECO noted that they will resume exams only if everything gets back to.normal in all the affected states.
