A commission of inquiry into alleged police misconduct in Nigeria has been set up, which will convene on Monday in Lagos.

For the past two weeks there have been protests demanding the reform of the police force, and the dissolution of the SARS unit.

Protesters want to see some police officers punished for murder before and during the protest and to pay compensation to the family of the victims.

Lagos State is the first state in Nigeria to set up a commission of inquiry which will look into the killings carried out by officers of the force.

Also President Buhari has given his full support to the Lagos state government in carrying out its investigation on police brutality.
