Three people have been killed in a knife attack in a Catholic Church in the French city of Nice.
Nice Mayor Christian Estrosi said one person had been arrested on suspicion of assault.
Reports say the knife attack is suspected to have “terrorist” links.
The interior minister urged the people to stay away from the area where the attack took place.
It was earlier this month that a suspected jihadist beheaded a teacher in Paris, after the teacher showed his students a cartoon by Charlie Hebdo magazine about the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).
There are heated debates in France over the failure of the French Police to avert such attacks and Muslims in France fear reprisals from other French citizens, as two Muslim women were stabbed after the Samuel Paty incident. The attackers made a derogatory remarks towards the women they stabbed. However, the attacker have been apprehended by the French police.
