Governor Abdullahi Sule of Nasarawa State has condemned the killing of the state Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Mr Philip Shekwo, describing it as unlucky, NAN experiences.
DAILY POST had reported that Shekwo who was kidnapped by gunmen at about 11 p.m. on Saturday from his residence in Bukan-Sidi, Lafia, was discovered lifeless on Sunday.
His lifeless physique was discovered some metres away from his residence and had been deposited on the morgue on the Dalhatu Araf Specialist Hospital (DASH), Lafia.
Reacting, the governor in an announcement issued on Sunday by his Chief Press Secretary, Ibrahim Addra, mentioned the killing of the APC chairman got here with nice shock and bewilderment.
“I’m personally traumatised by this grotesque and inhuman act that has left myself, Mr Shekwo’s members of the family, the APC household and certainly, all well-meaning folks shattered.
“My prayers and thoughts go to the family of the late Shekwo. He was a great husband, statesman, complete gentleman and loyal party man,” Sule mentioned.
He assured the folks of the state that the perpetrators of the dastardly act can be arrested and delivered to justice, as safety companies had begun investigations into the incident.
“This killing has additional our resolve to deploy each useful resource to battle crime and criminality and safe our folks and their property.
“I urge all to stay resilient, as we battle those that are bent on instilling worry in us and disrupt the pervading peace in our state.
“We will not allow them and the Almighty will never allow them,” he added.
