Sport Minister Needs 81 million

Minister of Youth and Sports Development, Sunday Dare has revealed that it will cost the ministry N81m to cut the grass and clear the weed that has taken over the MKO Abiola National Stadium in Abuja. “We approached AEPB.. and they told us it will cost us N81m..”

The stadium is split into Package A containing the Main Bowl and Package B containing other facilities such as basketball courts, NFF office, volleyball courts, tennis courts, squash courts.

“We approached AEPB to see what could be done in the stadium to clear the grass and weed, and they told us it would cost us N81 m.

There would be an uproar if we tell Nigerians we used N81m, which is not even available. The funds are not really there for us, and that’s why we’re working with private investors to put back our infrastructure’s core components,’ he said.”
