COVID-19 – A 90-year-old woman from Northern Ireland has become the first person to be vaccinated against coronavirus in the UK.
The country became the first country in Western Europe to begin vaccinating on Tuesday.
Thousands of medical staff and residents are the first batch of people to be vaccinated, with the Pfizer and BioNTech COVID-19 vaccines.
Last week health authorities in the UK approved an urgent need to start vaccinating people.
The people most targeted by the government are the elderly, those affected by the virus and the health workers.
The rest of the world is expected to start using the vaccine next week.
