Alhaji Musa Saleh Kwankwaso, the father of former Kano State governor and prominent politician Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, has passed away.
He died early Friday morning at the age of 93, according to a statement issued by Muhammad Inuwa Ali, a senior official of the former governor. He was to have died in Kano.
The funeral of Alhaji Musa Saleh, the reigning Majidadin Kano / Makaman Karaye, will be held on Friday at around 3 pm at his son’s house at Miller Road in Bompai, Kano.
However, the statement urged those who wish to attend the funeral, especially from other states, to stay at home due to COVID-19 restrictions.
The statement called on the public to pray for him instead. He is survived by two wives and 19 children (10 daughters, nine sons), and several grandchildren.
Among them is Senator Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, a former governor and senator, who is in Nigeria’s opposition party PDP.
