‘Never Pay Any Ransom To Kidnappers’ – Edo Police Commissioner To Nigerians

The Edo State Commissioner of Police, Philip Aliyu Ogbadu, has asked Nigerians never to pay any ransom to kidnappers.

He made this known during his recent submission on Channels Television’s Sunrise Daily program where he said;

“What I want to encourage the public is that if anything happens rather than going quietly to pay a ransom, inform the police so that, even in negotiation, we can be involved and we will know how to track them and bring them to book.”

His submission comes just days after a US-based Edo prince identified as Dennis Abuda was kidnapped and subsequently killed by his abductors.

The renowned businessman reportedly travelled to Edo for the Christmas holiday and was said to have been on his way to the Lagos airport before being killed by his abductors in Edo.

After being kidnapped, they paid a N10 million ransom for his release, however, he was killed by his kidnappers even though they took the money.
