After the Reds defeated Wolves at Molineux to advance to the FA Cup fourth round, Jurgen Klopp stated he had been waiting “ages” for Liverpool to triumph with a convincing win.

Three days after a disastrous Premier League loss at Brighton, Harvey Elliott’s incredible first-half drive gave Klopp’s team their first victory since the new year.

Wolves put a lot of pressure on them in the closing minutes, but the significantly altered visitors held on to secure a fourth-round matchup with the Seagulls for Sunday, January 29.

After the game, Klopp told BBC One, “It feels like years since we had that sensation of winning and playing well.

“Even though we had to put up a valiant battle to win, we dominated the game for significant stretches. It’s fantastic and exactly what we intended to happen.”

The victory on Tuesday was Liverpool’s third since domestic football resumed following the Qatar 2022 World Cup.

Following two spirited Premier League triumphs over Aston Villa and Leicester, the team suffered humiliating losses at Brentford and Brighton either side of a 3-2 League Cup loss to Manchester City on December 22.
