Group urges Umahi to extend his ‘cement technology’ to roads in South East

A group, Coalition of South East Youth Leaders (COSEY), has called on the Minister of Works, Engr Dave Umahi to extend his cement constructed roads to strategic roads in the south east.

The group said it has confidence in the appointment of Umahi as minister, saying that his roads in Ebonyi, and other Infrastructures are evidences that he is tailor-made for the job.

The group stated this a press statement signed by the President General of the group, Mr Goodluck Ibem.

He said: “The Ebonyi State of today that is being used as a reference point was once looked down on, in terms of infrastructure and other sectors used in measuring development and success.

“But Senator Umahi came and turned the table around with his engineering magical touch and the state became another Dubai of sort.

“We urge Senator Umahi to extend his engineering magical touch to Aba – Enugu expressway, Umuahia – Ohafia – Arochukwu Road, Umuahia – Bende – Ohafia road, Aba – Ikot Ekpene Road, Aba – Opobo road, Owerri – Onitsha Road, Enugu – Onitsha expressway, Osina – Akokwa – Anambra road, and other Federal roads that need urgent attention in the South East geopolitical zone.”

The group said when Umahi, brings his God given engineering magical acumen to bear, Nigerians will be proud to say they are Nigerians, because he is a man who knows his onion in the field of engineering and structural designs.

“He has shown that he is a round perk in a round hole. His appointment as Minister of Works by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu is worthwhile.

“The cement technology introduced by Senator Umahi in construction of roads remain the best form of modern road construction and design that will stand the test of time while also reducing cost and wastage on the past of the federal government.

“Roads constructed with cement technology has the propensity to last up to 30 to 50 years which is a big boost to our economy.”
