Zamfara State Governor-elect, Dauda Lawal Dare has assured indigenes that he would be handling the state affairs of the state with sincerity of purpose, promising that the entire populace will enjoy his government.

The incoming governor who spoke through one of his media aides, Nuhu Anka said he was already aware that the political and democratic situation of the state is in question.

He said the situation has gone far, such that his government will need to start afresh to design a formidable principle that can uplift the state politically, economically and socially.

He promised that his government will collaborate with the federal government to find a solution to the ravaging problems of insecurity.

“We are stepping into the government to rescue the state and not to continue from where the previous governments stopped”, he added.

Fielding questions from newsmen in Gusau, the State capital on how the incoming government would battle the banditry in the state, Dare said the security of lives and properties is in the hands of the federal government, not the states.

“The states according to the constitution has no police or military, so we depend on the federal government to provide enough security network “, he said.

“We have already known the security challenges of the state and we will approach the federal government on how to solve the teething issues.”

He explained that the previous governments did not do enough to salvage the situation but that his government will do its best to rescue the people.
