Yar’Adua 13 years after: What I will do as President – Tinubu

The President-elect, Bola Tinubu has promised to follow the foot steps of late President Musa Yar’Adua.

Tinubu said Yar’Adua was committed to Nigeria’s democracy and good governance.

He made the remark in his tribute to Yar’Adua 13 years after his death.

The President-elect said the deceased lived a purposeful life while on earth.

He said; “We’ll Never Forget You! Today, as always, I remember my good friend and brother in the struggle for democracy and good governance in Nigeria, late President Musa Yar’Adua, who died on this day 13 years ago.

“As I prepare to take the reins of leadership of this country on May 29, I am determined to follow the good examples set by leaders like Mallam Umaru Yar’Adua who showcased exceptional sense of propriety and selfless service to our dear country.”

Describing the deceased as a political associate, Tinubu said Yar’Adua was honest, steadfast, patriotic, and had an excellent public service.

Yar’Adua was the Governor of Katsina State from 1999 to 2007, and President of Nigeria from 2007 to 2010; when he died.
