The Federal University Dutsinma (FUDMA), Katsina State, on Monday, matriculated 6012 students into the 2022/2023 academic session.
The Vice Chancellor of the University, Prof. Armaya’u Hamisu Bichi, made the disclosure during the university’s 11th matriculation ceremony.
According to Armaya’u, the University which commenced its first academic session in July, 2012, has zero tolerance for cultism, indecent dressing and other social vices.
The university don also tasked the students on the need “to be security conscious and cooperate fully with the university, urging them to obey the basic security tips that may be released from time to time.”
In the same vein, Armaya’u warned students against the risk of being drowned considering the enormous water bodies within the school’s locality.
He said: “Any student found in this regard will be appropriately punished. Our roles here are also to protect your lives and we are doing everything possible to achieve that.”
Armaya’u also disclosed at the occasion that the National Universities Commission (NUC) has approved the establishment of four new Faculties: Earth & Environmental Sciences, Law, Engineering, as well as a College of Health Sciences.
He advised the pioneer matriculants in these new faculties to strive harder to come-up with good grades that will uplift the good name of the university.
Armaya’u commended the Federal Government of Nigeria, the Katsina State Government and other relevant stakeholders for their numerous support to the institution.
