President Muhammadu Buhari has confirmed Mina Ogbanga as a member of the National Stakeholders Working Group (NSWG) of the Nigerian Extractive Industries Transparency Initiative (NEITI).

Ogbanga, who will represent Civil Society Organisations (CSOs) on the Board of NEITI, received her letter on Friday in Abuja.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Boss Mustapha was represented by the Secretary of General Services in the Office, Maurice Mbaeri.

Ogbanga’s appointment is for an initial period of four years with effect from January 17, 2023. She was elected into the role on March 8, 2023 by CSOs.

The new board member noted that the task ahead, to enhance the extractive space for societal transformation, was crucial.

“It is with unreserved humility that I accept my confirmation as the CSO Representative on the NEITI Board.

“This is a task for all. Let’s make this initial four years the best for Nigerians at home and in the diaspora,” the activist added.

Ogbanga said she looks forward to working with all cadres of civil society to ensure an inclusive leadership where no one is left behind.
