No fewer than 13 people have been reported killed in Karim-Lamido Local Government Council of Taraba State.

The crisis, which our reporter learnt erupted as a result of the creation of chiefdom, was said to have led to the burning of several houses in one of the communities.

Sources told DAILY POST that apart from the aforementioned numbers of casualties and destruction of property, several people, majority of whom are women and children, have also been displaced.

The state police command, when reached for confirmation, said “only two casualties were recorded.”

The Police Public Relations Officer of the command, Abdullahi Usman, who made the confirmation on Saturday, said three units of mobile policemen have been drafted to the areas.

Apart from the policemen, several soldiers, according to him, have been deployed to the council.
