Zamfara presents 17 S-PPEs to security agencies

The Zamfara State Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs, Disaster Management and Social Development has donated items for Security Prevention and Protection Equipment (S-PPE) to some security agencies.

The Director Information of the Ministry, Bashir Kabiru Ahmad disclosed this in a press statement signed and issued to newsmen in Gusau, the state capital.

Presenting the items to the Nigeria Police Force and the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps, Zamfara State, the commissioner of the ministry, Fa’ika Ahmed explained that the gesture was aimed at supporting the security agencies to discharge their constitutional responsibilities in fighting crimes.

The commissioner stated that the 17 S-PPE items were donations from the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency NIMASA, to the Zamfara State government, pointing out that they were meant for fighting illegal activities in the communities.

She urged the security agencies selected for the gesture to ensure proper utilisation of the equipment for the protection of lives and property of the citizens.

The gadgets include: Security Vests, Handcuffs, Security Boots, Teargas, Way Radio, Hand Head Metal Detector, Flashlight, Jack Knife, among others.

Responding, Commandant of the NSCDC, Zamfara State Command, Muhammad Bello Mu’azu and the representative of the Zamfara State Commissioner of Police, CSP Maimagani Gimba appreciated the ministry and assured of effective utilisation of the equipment.
