Akwa Ibom State Governor, Udom Emmanuel, as well as the governor-elect in the state, Pastor Umo Eno, have congratulated Hilda Baci (Miss Hilda Effiong Bassey) on her feat of breaking the Guinness World Record for the “longest cooking marathon by an individual”.

Her victory had smashed the 87-hour, 45-minute record set by Chef Lata Tondon from India.

She cooked for 96 hours, setting a new world record as the first human on earth to spend such an amount of time cooking.

The governor, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Ekerete Udoh, said Baci’s feat encapsulates their “Dakkada” philosophy which entails the determination to dare and conquer what others assume to be impossible.

He also commended Baci for putting Akwa Ibom’s culinary skills on full display as well as their nationally and internationally celebrated cuisines.

The governor also promised to host her soon, stressing, “You are an inspiration to millions of Nigerians, and especially our dear fellow Akwa Ibomites.”

Similarly, the Governor-elect, Pastor Umo Eno, in his congratulatory message said, “As the world celebrates you, I want you to know that Akwa Ibom State is on the cusp of further explosion in tourism, which is a key component of our A.R.I.S.E. Agenda, and we look forward to working with resourceful Akwa Ibomites like you, who are willing and ready to break the glass ceiling of accomplishments. You have done our state proud, and we are all behind you.

“Akwa Ibom will always roll out the red carpet to celebrate you and your likes in the years ahead.”
