Omoyele Sowore, African Action Congress, AAC, presidential candidate in the last election, has revealed that the Lagos State Police Command claimed that the police officer slapped by afrobeat singer, Seun Kuti is in coma.

Sowore made this known in a tweet on Tuesday.

Recall that Seun was charged with assault on a police officer on Monday.

The offence contravenes Section 356 of the Criminal Code Act.

The police prosecutor, S. A. Adebese had prayed that the court remand the defendant for 21 days.

But the Magistrate Court in Yaba on Tuesday granted him bail and urged him to produce two sureties who own landed properties in Lagos State.

Magistrate Adeola Olatunbosun also ordered police to complete their investigation within 48 hours.

Sowore on his Twitter page wrote, ”Prosecutors of the @PoliceNG

are asking for an ex parte order to detain @realseunkuti for 21 days just to obtain his “statement”.

”They also claimed the officer involved in the altercation is now in “coma” after he left Seun’s house and finished writing his report.

”There is an institutional and historical grudge to be settled with the Kutis. They are not seeking justice just want to exact revenge.”
