A five-man Commission of Inquiry has been set up by the Sokoto State government to probe all land allocations and government assets sold or auctioned during the administration of former Governor Aminu Tambuwal.
The committee is led by Justice M.A. Pindiga (rtd), and Secretary Nasiru Muhammed Binji.
Chief Jacob E. Ochidi, SAN; Usman Abubakar and Barrister Lema Sambo Wali are other members of the committee.
The Press Secretary to Governor Ahmed Aliyu, in a statement, noted that the committee would also ascertain the government’s bank account and the amount realized from the sales and auctions of the assets.
According to the statement, “The committee will examine the various allocations of lands throughout the state, including government-owned houses sold or auctioned.”
The committee has two months from the date of its first sitting to submit it report.
