UNDP, Anambra collaborate on implementation of ICT policies

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) has met with the Anambra ICT Agency on ways to fast-track the implementation of ICT policy documents in the state.

The state focal person of UNDP in Anambra State, Chiwetalu Okosi, spoke during the visit to the Anambra ICT Agency about how both bodies can partner to ensure the implementation of the ICT document earlier developed by the agency.

Anambra State governor, Prof Chukwuma Soludo, has consistently harped on the use of ICT in governance to achieve his manifesto for the people of the state.

He recently charged the Anambra ICT Agency with ensuring the achievement of such a plan.

Early this month, the agency held the Anambra ICT Stakeholders’ Engagement Workshop, where stakeholders made contributions to formulate new policies on ICT.

The MD/CEO of Anambra ICT Agency, Mr Chukwuemeka Fred Agbata, who briefed journalists after the meeting, said the UNDP visit reflected the kind of strategic partnership his agency is seeking in its quest to realise its mandate.

He avowed: “This collaboration between Anambra State and the UNDP holds a huge promise for the state’s growth and development.”
