The Chairman of Ivo Local Government of Ebonyi State, Mr Emmanuel Ajah, on Wednesday, condemned in totality the abduction of a man, his wife, and three others by suspected herdsmen along Mile 2 in the state.

DAILY POST reports that the victims were returning from a burial when the kidnappers ambushed them and whisked them away to an unknown destination.

It was gathered that the victims’ children were abandoned inside the vehicle by the kidnappers.

Ajah, who spoke to newsmen in Abakaliki, said: “There was a kidnapping incident around that place last Sunday.

“I have been trying to ensure that we put an end to insecurity in Ivo LGA. I have put up about three checking points, three military bases, mainly Aguleri and Calaba people.

“Unfortunally, they kidnapped one woman, the husband and the driver, and abandoned their children inside the vehicle.

“The kidnappers took some of their belongings. The kidnappers equally kidnapped one of my neighbours on his farm.”
