American rap legend, Jay-Z has criticised the organisers of the Grammy for his wife, Beyoncé’s ‘Album of the Year’ losses.

The Roc Nation boss was awarded the Dr. Dre Global Impact Award which was held at the 2024 Grammys at the Arena, in Los Angeles.

In his acceptance speech, Jay-Z criticised the Recording Academy’s sense of judgment, pointing out that despite Beyoncé being the most awarded person in the Grammy’s history with a total of 32 awards, she has never won the Album of the Year category.

He said, “I don’t wanna embarrass this young lady [Beyoncé] but she has more Grammys than anyone and never won Album of the Year. So, even by your own [Grammy organisers] metrics that doesn’t work. Think about that: the most Grammys never won Album of the Year, that doesn’t work. (sic)

“Some of you are going to go home tonight and feel like you have been robbed.”

DAILY POST reports that Taylor Swift’s ‘Midnights’ won the Album of the Year at the 2024 Grammys.

Victoria Monét was named the Best New Artist of the Year ahead of Ice Spice, Fred Again, Coco Jones, Jelly Roll and others.

Billie Eilish’s ‘What Was I Made For?’ won the golden gramophone for the Song of the Year, while Miley Cyrus’s ‘Flowers’ won the Record of the Year.
